This is the first sweater for which Kristin Brynja made a pattern: “This is the sweater that makes me want to continue to design knitting patterns. It is plain and doesn’t look like it would be complicated to make but the pattern was quite complex. It made me realise how much work is involved in designing even the simplest knitted garments. I have knitted this sweater many times and used up every one of them. I always have to own at least one sweater like this and you could say that I live in it.”

YARN:
Einrúm L+2 qualities.
SIZES: S (M) L – 500 g (500 g) 550 g
(if L+4 is used 50 g extra yarn might be needed). The pictured sweater is knitted in colour 2002.
NEEDLES:
Body: 5 mm (US8) (5.5 mm (US9)) 6 mm (US10)) 60 cm circular needles.
Sleeves: Set of double ended 4 mm (US6) (4.5 mm (US7)) 5 mm (US 8) needles
and a short 5 mm (US8) (5.5 mmUS9)) 6 mm (US10) circular needle.
GAUGE, in rib 2/2:
10 cm = 17 (16) 15 sts and 22 (21) 20 rnds
SIZES:
Half bust width (reference): 37,5 (40) 42 cm
Body length to underarms: 57 (60) 65 cm
Sleeve length to underarms: 52 (52) 54 cm
• The body and sleeves are worked in the round.
• Sleeves and body are joined on one circular needle at the armholes and the yoke is worked flat with raglan shaping.
