A week-end in… Stuttgart: Sonntag Aktuell Touristic Price Award
Un week-end à … Stuttgart: Sonntag Aktuell Prix du tourisme 2013
This week-end I was in Stuttgart where I was awarded the annual Sonntag Aktuell Tourism Award 2013 for my Hiking and knitting tours in collaboration with Icelandic Mountain Guides. The Ceremony took place on Sunday evening during the biggest Fair in Europe dedicated to Travel and Tourism. It was the 16th year that this respectful and sought after Award was allocated by Sonntag Aktuell, Germany’s 2nd largest Sunday newspaper.
Naively, I didn’t really realize what a big deal this was before I had to make a presentation in front of the 250 VIP guests at the Ceremony Award followed by a buffet and music! Thanks god I had taken my high heels with me rather than my hiking boots! The price itself consists in a substantial grant to advertise the tours but is also a huge recognition and I’m very honored and thankful for it.

Ce week-end, j’étais à Stuttgart où je recevais le Prix du tourisme 2013 du Sonntag Aktuell pour mes Tricot-treks en Islande en collaboration avec Icelandic Mountain Guides. La cérémonie a eu lieu dimanche durant le plus grand Salon en Europe dédié aux Voyages et au Tourisme avec 2000 exposants et 225.000 visiteurs. C’était la 16ème année que ce prix était alloué par le Sonntag Aktuell, l’un des plus grands journaux du dimanche en Allemagne. Naïvement, je n’ai vraiment pris l’ampleur de ce prix que lorsque j’ai dû faire une présentation devant 250 invités à la Cérémonie de remise des prix suivie d’un buffet en musique! Heureusement que j’avais emmené avec moi des escarpins à talon plutôt que mes chaussures de randonnée! Le prix lui-même consiste en une subvention substantielle pour faire la publicité de mes voyages de tricot mais est surtout une énorme reconnaissance de mon travail dont je suis très honorée et reconnaissante.
