Warming up the elfes

Spring in Iceland is skying season. My friend Anna Maria and I were well equipped on our cross-country skying tour the other day: I was wearing my Icelandic Spring Shawl, the Checkered beanie and Nordic Leaf mittens from my book Icelandic Handknits, and my grey Gamaldags lopi sweater. Anna Maria was wearing a cap crocheted by her mum, nordic style mittens and fingerless gloves she knitted herself, as well as a beautiful Shetland sweater with the typical tree and star yoke motif.
