Shawls of Myth and Magic is an ode to the Icelandic wool, Icelandic nature and Norse mythology. All the 9 shawls in the book are knitted from Icelandic wool and each one is shown in two different colorways and yarns. In that way each shawl is a poem which tells a story, old and new, while warming the owners, protecting them, and delighting their senses. Icelandic nature shines in all its glory in the photographs, weaving in and out of the knitting patterns and reflecting in the shawls themselves.
Many shawls in the book were knitted with Gilitrutt Tvíband.

About the author
Bergrós Kjarstandóttir was brought up in Ísafjörður in the Westfjords of Iceland. After trying many different kind of yarns, she has come to the conclusion that Icelandic wool is best. She has designed many popular knitting patterns for the Ístex lopi magazines but Shawls of myth and magic is her first book.
