HB03 is a simple jumper to knit and the results emerge quickly. Halla had dreamt of a simple, chunky woollen jumper that would go well with both jeans and skirts. When Halla visited the shark museum in in Bjarnarhöfn at Snæfellsnes, she became fascinated with the pattern of shark teeth. They reminded her of stories about her great grandfather, who was captain of shark fishing boat “Hákarla Sæmundur” (e. Sæmundur the shark) and had a shark tooth earring. If a shark loses a tooth, the tooth behind it will move forward and fill the gap. Therefore, sharks will always sport a perfect set of teeth. Some species of sharks renew up to 30 000 teeth in their lifetime. This ever-repeating pattern brings these endless shark teeth to mind.

Design: Halla Benediktsdóttir. Halla Ben is Icelandic but has been living in Danemark for many years. She is the organizer of the Icelandic Knitting event Pakhusstrik that is held in Copenhagen every year.
YARN:
The pattern is made for both Einrúm E and L-yarn qualities. The jumper in the picture is made in color E 1013.
E-yarn: All Einrúm E qualities. Sizes: S/M (M/L) 200 (250) g
L-yarn: All Einrúm L qualities. Sizes: S/M (M/L) 350 (400) g
NEEDLES:
E-yarn: 4mm (US 6) and 5mm (US 8) circular needles.
Sets of 4mm (US 6) and 5mm (US 8) double pointed needles.
L-yarn: 4.5mm (US 7) and 8mm (US 11) circular needles.
Sets of 4.5mm (US 7) and 8mm (US 11) double pointed needles.
TENSION shark teeth pattern. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT to make a swatch to check the tension and, if necessary, change needle sizes accordingly.
10 cm = 16 sts 10 cm = 20 rows L-yarn:
10 cm = 14 sts 10 cm = 18 rows
SIZES, E-yarn and L-yarn: Half bust width 45 (47) cm
Length to underarms: 45 (47) cm
Sleeve length: 45 (47) cm
METHOD:
• Body and sleeves are worked in the round up to the underarms, where the sleeves and body are joined onto one circular needle to work the yoke.
• The yoke is shaped with raglan decreases.
• Sleeve and body ribs, as well as neckband are worked in a patterned rib: 1 twisted knit stitch, 1 purled stitch.
