Subtle waves of elongated stitches contrast with ripples of stocking stitch in a delicate lace wrap inspired by the clear turquoise of Iceland’s glaciers and rivers.
It was an honour and a great pleasure to collaborate with Kieran Foley on the Swimming Pool shawl that he designed especially for my Love Story yarn. The result is truly an ode to the Icelandic swimming pool culture.
The kit contains 3 skeins of Love Story yarn and a project bag. You can see all the 20 colors available here. The shawl is shown in Glacier turquoise.

“I loved color and pattern as a child, and spent a lot of time doodling, drawing, and painting. I learned stranded knitting at home at an early age and went on to study textile design at the National College of Art in Dublin, Ireland (1983-87). At the time students were encouraged to keep a notebook to sketch ideas, and to collect postcards and cuttings for inspiration.”
It was an honour and a great pleasure to collaborate with Kieran on the Swimming Pool shawl that he designed with my Love Story yarn in mind. Swimming pools have a special place in the Icelandic culture: they serve as meeting points of sorts, where people from all walks of life meet and discuss politics, gossip and the weather. Each swimming pool has its own character and Icelanders are constantly trying new pools looking for the ultimate swimming pool.
Size: one size – a slightly skewed rectangle, approximately 65in/165cm by 20in/51cm

Wool: Love Story Einband from Hélène Magnússon, pure new wool (100% Icelandic lambswool), fine lace weight, 1 ply, 25 g skein = 225 m / 246 yds
