Rollur Mittens

From  6,12

The Rollur mittens are an ode to the Icelandic sheep. Brought by the first settlers more than a 1000 years ago, the Icelandic sheep is the only breed of sheep in Iceland, and it is strictly forbidden to mix it with any other breeds. Rollur (pronounced rodlur and rolling the r) is a familiar term for sheep in Iceland. And what better way to honor the Icelandic sheep than to also use the beautiful Heiður yarn (Heiður means Honor in Icelandic) from Urðurull ?

The Rollur mittens have corrugated ribbing in the cuffs and the hands are decorated with rams and ewes. They are available in 4 sizes for the whole family. All the sizes are charted and include a reverse color chart.

Yarn used: Heiður yarn from Urðurull, you can also use Forystuþræðir, Huldaband from Uppspuni, Ær from Gilhaga, Léttlopi from Ístex,
