I guess I just wanted to disappear in the moss… After the Mosi mittens and the hat, here is the Mosi sweater that reminds of the thick and spongy moss (mosi in Icelandic) covering the old Icelandic lava fields. Knitted from the top down in a wide range of sizes, this light yet warm sweater is knitted with a pleasant stranded knitting motif and my very soft Icelandic lambswool yarn, Gilitrutt Tvíband.

The Mosi Mittens, with their lovely colors, were a fresh take on a type of traditional stranded mittens with little motifs ensuring that the fabric stays warm. Then I made a matching hat, and now a matching sweater in the same colors of the Icelandic moss.
Not fan of the green? Many lovely colors have been combined to knit some hats and mittens: be inspired by the 20 colors of Gilitrutt available!

Relaxed fit with approx. 10 cm/4” positive ease at bust and 5 cm/2” around arm. Sweater shown is a size 3, model with bust 86 cm / 38”.
Choose your size: add the ease to your upper bust circumference and chose the size the closest to the result.

Yarn: Gilitrutt Tvíband from Hélène Magnússon, pure new wool, 100% Icelandic lambswool, lace, 2-ply, 25 g / skein = approx. 112 m/ 123 yds
MC: Moss green
CC1: Raven black

4(4,5,5)5,6,6(7,8) skeins of each color.
Needles: circular needles 2,5 mm and 3 mm / US 2 and 2½. Magic loop is used for smaller diameters but you can also use double-pointed needles. Adjust needle size as necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions: markers, darning needle
Techniques: The sweater is worked top down in stranded knitting in the round. Increases, rib.
Kit: the kit contains the wool but not the needles or the other material. The kit include the PDF pattern. We don’t send printed patterns by snail mail. Shipping costs are not included
