Size: one size fits all. Depth easily adjustable.
Gauge; 10 cm / 4” = 18 sts x 24 rows in St st on 4.5 mm/US 7 needle with Aran weight yarn.
Check your gauge and if necessary change needle size to obtain the correct gauge.
Wool: You can use any Aran weight yarn to complete this project and will need less than 1 ball. You can use scrap yarn for the bobbles and braided cord, or have them in the same color as the beret.
Yardage used:
- MC: less than 100 m /109 yds
- CC (optional): 1.50 m / 1.65 yards
The original beret on pictures was part of my Icelandic Yarn Club 2 and was knitted with plant dyed Dóru Band (Þingborg’s two ply, pure new wool, 100% high quality Icelandic wool, Aran weight 50 g skein = 110 m / 120 yds).
Needle: 4.5 mm / US 7 circular needle or size to obtain the gauge. Cable needle in option.
Notions: darning needle, stitch marker.
