Einband by Ístex: 100% wool, 1 ply, light fingering

Einband means “one ply” in Icelandic: it is indeed a one ply lace yarn. It is more like a light fingering and the finest yarn of the Ístex range. Otbcan be used for shawls and light garments. Two strands together knit about like the Léttlopi. It can be used with a strand of teh unspun Plötulopi to make it stronger. The yarn softens after washing.
Grýla Tvíband and Gilitrutt Tvíband are plied yarns of a similar weight (Gilitrutt very soft because made of lambswool) and can be used instead of it, although they can knit at a slightly smaller gauge.
