04 – Autumn/Winter 2011
The Icelandic Knitter gives Icelandic knitting traditions a new spin: patterns and kits, hiking and knitting holidays. Discover Iceland with your needles !
This 4th issue is full of love and softness to enter winter time!
First is the pre-launch of the Icelandic yarn Love Story: a story of friendship to create a crafted lace-weight yarn made in pure Icelandic wool, but much softer that what you are used to. You’re going to knit marvels with it! In “Leading the way“, the second episod of the adventures of the doll Theodóra, written by Harpa Jónsdóttir, discover how Theodóra and Olivia became freind and what a good dog Smali is! Two other friends revived the Icelandic knitting magazine Lopi og band and are publishing their best pattern on The Icelandic Knitter: the Icelandic yoke sweater Flétta is both for men and women, for a couple in love. Just like the couple of Ravens that stay together all their life: the mittens Ravens in snow will warm up your hands and your heart! But was it love at first sight when an Icelandic knitter met a Cathare shepherd? It was certainly love at first sight when Hélène saw for the first time the little Icelandic inserts: she tells it with flowers! Maybe you’d rather give your loved one a pair of Icelandic socks with his initials? Or a smooth chunky lace scarf or is it a ring?
